You have your product, you have a website that you are happy with...but, unless you can attract targetted, potential customers to your site, then, my friend, you are dead in the water !
If your intention is to market 0nline then it is imperative that you attract qualified potential buyers to your site...people who are actively searching for the type of product that you are offering.
If you are a 'newbie' to Internet Marketing, and your advertising budget is as flat as a politician's promise then you will be looking for a proven strategy which will not cost you an arm and a leg, or, preferably, FREE !
The answer lies with search engines and directories (eg: Google & Yahoo) who offer a great source of free traffic to your site...in exchange, all you are required to do is to provide keyword-rich content in your site to enable the search engine 'spiders' to evaluate your content.
In case you are an arachnaphobe, let me just explain that 'spiders' in this context refer to automated programmes that search the Web, and index sites on behalf of the search engines to enable them to compile a 'league table' of sites in specific niches.
Although the 'spiders' will eventually discover and evaluate your site, a little effort on your part will speed-up the process.
Each search engine uses different criteria and processes to compile their data, so it's worthwhile investigating each search engine to find out what these are.
A word of warning here...there are several sites on the Web who offer, for a fee, to submit your site to the search engines...my advice would be - don't bother...you can do the job easier, cheaper and probably better yourself.
Another way to enhance your chances of achieving high ranking in the search engines is to launch your own blog, and then to post regular copy...'spiders' love regular, fresh information, and your rating will rise accordingly.
