Public Domain...The Easy Way to Article Creation

Many Webmasters find that writing articles, or indeed any kind of copy is a very tedious, boring and time-consuming task.
Many people, faced with the task of collating, researching and writing a 450 - 500 word article would happily opt instead for root-canal work without the aenasthetic, whilst being compelled to listen to a Party Political broadcast ... at full volume !
Wouldn't it be so much easier if we could just use someone else's article, or ideas ?
Well, yes ... but if the article is copyrighted, then any attempt to hijack it would be considered plagiarism, or more simply - stealing - and the consequences are not something you want to contemplate.
However, many authors do not copyright their material, and by either neglecting, or choosing to do this, their material falls into the category of Public Domain.
What this means is that non-copyrighted , or Public Domain material is available to anyone and everyone - and can be used , or abused, without worry.
These Public Domain articles can be used in helping you to write your own articles - you simply take the content, edit it to your own style, or rewrite it as you see fit.
For many, this is considered to be a very effective way to compile articles .
They don't need to spend precious time searching for inspiration and doing research ...all this has already been done.
All that remains is to re-style the original, and modify the content by inserting keywords and key-phrases relevant to their site.
Using Public Domain material can also save you money- you don't need to hire writers to produce copy for your site, and you don't waste a lot of your valuable time ... and time is money!
When you consider how many articles are required to fill say, a year's worth of Ezine articles or Newsletter articles, then those savings can be considerable.
My next posting will consider the many benefits derived from submitting your work to Article Directories ... so until then,
To Your Success
Frank

Writing Articles For Submission...without the Hassle!

We have, hopefully, established that articles are an important, no-cost and effective method of attracting visitors to your sales site.
They are crucial to keep you, and your business in the public eye and to ensure a constant stream of traffic to your site.
The problem for many people, however, is that they feel that they don't have the aptitude, or the time for writing, and would much rather spend their time on other aspects of their business.
So, how do we solve this dilemma ?
One way, of course, is to hire a professional writer to do the job for you, but this can sometimes prove to be both expensive and frustrating.
On the positive side, a search on the 'net will reveal freelance writers from all over the world who will, for a reasonable fee, craft an original and informative article for you.
Many of these writers are regarded as experts in writing copy for the internet marketing community, and, provided that you supply them with a reasonable framework of your requirements, will produce an original, well-written article.
Finding a good writer or freelance site is as simple as searching the web using keywords such as 'Article Writers', 'Content Writers', or 'Freelance Writers' , which will offer a long list of sites that offer these services.
The sites with the higher rankings in the search engine listings would obviously be your best bet, as these have worked hard at keeping their content at high quality.
Most writers bidding for your work are happy to provide you with samples of their work, so that you can make an informed decision.
However, even if writing is not your thing, but you would like to retain control of your output, or do not have the patience to be continuously briefing ghost writers, then all is not lost !
Join me in my next posting, when I shall be discussing ways of solving these problems...

To your success

Writing Articles...get a grip, we're almost there !

So, you have completed your article and are now basking in a rosy glow, possibly complemented by several libations of Laphroig (and who could blame you ?)...I practice what I preach - Cheers !
BUT...before you post your masterpiece to an Article Directory, where hopefully it will be read and enjoyed by thousands of people, consider your street cred ... is your article well researched, and full of fresh up-to-date information ?
Is it written with due regard to good grammar, spelling and syntax ?
If it isn't, then you will be commiting the literary version of walking into town with your flies open, or the back of your skirt tucked into your knickers !
If that's your thing - fine ... but if you would prefer to avoid that kind of embarrassement then you must edit and proofread your copy at least twice.
I personally find it helpful to dictate the finished piece onto a tape recorder or Dictaphone to help spot obvious mistakes ... starting a sentence in first person singular (I), and then reverting to "We" later on, etc.
Editing is the process of weeding out inconsistencies like this and generally making sure that the copy flows in a natural sequence.
Proofreading is the final check to make sure that spelling and punctuation are within acceptable limits ... the Internet is perhaps not as judgemental as the print media, but this should not be used as an excuse for sloppiness !
Make no mistake, well written informative articles submitted to Directories will give your credibility a huge boost and, as a bonus, will vastly increase visitors to your site.
But...what if you don't have the percieved ability, the necessary incentive or the time to write your own articles ... what then ?
In my next couple of postings I shall address these issues, and discuss various methods available to get round these problems.
Until next time

Writing Articles...what are you waiting for - let's write !

So, we've done our research, and have our skeleton consisting of a series of headers and sub-headers...we are now cooking by gas !
Just to digress slightly, when we were considering a condusive working environment in an earlier posting, one thing I didn't mention, and should have, was peace and quiet...I defy anyone to produce creative writing without it !
The problem is that if you work from home, even well-meaning friends and family all assume that you don't have a 'proper' job, and will either call round for coffee or a chat.
The fact that I actively discourage this may explain why I received a book for Christmas last, entitled "Are you a miserable old git"...perhaps my message has been received loud and clear !
But, back to the task in hand...
So, assuming we have achieved both a conducive working environment and the much-to-be-desired peace and quiet, where do we go from here ?
We have done our research and have our list of headers and sub-headers making up our skeleton, and now we must organise these...this is the point when your creativity should start rearing its head.
The secret now is to re-arrange all your copy in proper order to tell a story...how you achieve that will depend on both your creativity, and on the particular niche you intend writing for.
But at least we have gone far beyond staring at a blank sheet of paper...we now have a skeleton made up of headers and subs which can now be fleshed-out.
If you are comfortable with, and knowledgable on your subject...and you should be...then you don't need to be a Geoffrey Archer (and who would want to be, for God's sake ?) to be capable of writing two or three paragraphs to flesh-out each header.
So, having done that, you are sitting back, whisky in hand, congratulating yourself on your deathless prose, complete at last - but Whoa ! ... we haven't finished yet, folks !
If it were that easy, everybody would be doing it !
But don't worry, we have more or less cracked this thing ...
Join me in my next posting for the final task neccessary for launching your masterpiece

Writing Articles...more building blocks

In my previous posting I promised to address the problems experienced by many writers...lack of creativity and the dreaded 'Writers' Block', so here goes :
The solution to these problems lie in developing a logical plan of action, which, after all forms the basis for solving any problem.
Every professional writer, whether they specialise in fiction, non-fiction, or commercial copywriting, including journalists invariably carry a little black book in which they note ideas and plots as they come to mind for future reference...ideas and creativity can strike at any time, which can later be developed into unique material.
But when developing ideas into a finished product, we need to be in the right frame of mind.
Ideally you need a workplace that is comfortable and in which you feel relaxed.
Creativity needs these conditions as distractions and negative vibes will be counter-productive to your creative flow...but once you are happy with your writing environment, it's then time to get down to the creation of your article, and initially this consists of research.
Remember, once you have posted your opus magnum on line, it has the potential of being read by literally thousands of people, so at the very least you need to get your facts straight !
Don't disregard research - check your facts and the latest developments in your particular industry - your aim should be to present yourself to your readers as a professional front-runner.
Old, or out-of-date information will not do your reputation or the perception of your product/services any favours.
When undertaking research and checking facts that you intend using in your article or copy, identify the main points and jot these down as rough headers...then do the same with secondary points for use as sub-heads.
By the end of your research period you will then have a skeleton on which to hang the flesh of your article.
If that sounds a bit gory, hang on in there, and in my next posting I will show you how to cook it all up into a tasty article !
Until next time - Bon Appetite
Frank

Writing Articles - the building blocks

Whenever the subject of writing articles or sales copy arises, the general reaction almost invariably is "Oh, I can't write/wont write/I'm hopeless at it, etc.
But let's face it, most of us had to do it at school...like any task it can be learned.
For those with an inbuilt aversion to putting pen to paper, I shall be offering alternative methods designed to getting around this in my next few postings.
But, for those of you who feel that you have the aptitude, but are perhaps a little rusty on compiling and writing copy, let me offer the following :
Before ever putting pen to paper (I'm old-fashioned, I write longhand, edit, proofread and only then commit it to screen) you must decide on your subject.
This should not be a difficult choice...after all, you know your product inside-out (or should !), and you also know which marketing strategies work for your particular niche...so write about what you know.
But writing an article that is informative and captures the interest of your readers needs to be well researched to ensure that the information you are offering is fresh, up to date and correct in its details.
It also needs to be in a style that is well laid out and flows in a logical sequence.
For this to occur every writer needs to sink a few pints of creativity...for some this flows naturally, where others tear their hair out, both literally and figuratively, while suffering from the dreaded Writers' Block.
Forming words and sentences that put images in the readers' mind is an art which requires a certain flair that only a healthy dose of creativity can provide.
How a writer splices together words, sentences and paragraphs to create an article will determine the articles fate...if the author gets the equation right, then he has a succesful, popular piece of prose, if he doesn't... !
But getting back to the dreaded Writers' Block...what do you do when faced with a blank sheet of paper, with nothing coming to mind ?
This self-same problem has turned authors, many of them famous, to drink (cheers!)
But for every problem there is a solution, and in my next posting we shall look at these.
Until then...don't despair !

Why you MUST attract visitors to your site

For most people, the whole reason for maintaining a website is to make money, and it's a sad fact of life that, unless you have an effective strategy to attract visitors, and in particular prospective buyers then you will fail to achieve your objective.
Most large companies, both on- and offline spend huge sums in advertising and marketing strategies in order to maintain and increase their image and market position.
However, as a small, or medium sized marketer your advertising budget and resources will of neccessity be much more modest than those of the industry giants, but you still have to maintain an active profile if you expect to market your product...but how ?
The answer lies in generating effective low-cost, high volume visitor traffic to your site...obviously, not every visitor will buy, so the more the merrier !
Of course, the conversion rate of visitors to buyers will depend on the effectiveness of your sales copy, the attractiveness of your product and the appeal of your website.
These are variable, and should be regularly tested, but the one invariable is ... no traffic, no sales !
With that said, my subsequent postings will investigate strategies which are guaranteed to generate large volumes of traffic to your site.

Attracting Traffic to your site...Part3

A really simple and free method to attract traffic to your site is a strategy known as 'Viral Marketing'.
The real benefits of this strategy are that it's free, and once implemented will run on autopilot.
Simply put, Viral Marketing allows you to propagate your sales message like a virus.
To achieve this, you encourage visitors to your site to pass on information about your site to others.
Of course an incentive is required, but even a simple strap-line at the end of a free article, such as "If you have enjoyed this article, please feel free to forward it to a friend" should have the desired effect.
Or, you could offer a free demo of your product, and provide a "Share this with a friend" button.
Basically, this same method can be duplicated on all your articles, webpages etc. and your customer list will expand exponentially.
Used in conjunction with your other marketing strategies, this is yet another proven method of attracting visitors, and hopefully buyers, to your site...it's a sad fact of life that you may have the best product and the most attractive website ever, but unless potential customers are aware of your offer, then your sales graph will be as flat as a politician's promise !

Attracting visitors to your site...

Another low-cost method that can be used to attract visitors to your site is known as PPC, or Pay per Click.
PPC search engines allow you to bid for top-ranking positions using keywords of your choice...when a visitor clicks on the chosen keyword/s on which you have bid, and subsequently clicks through to your website, then you are charged the bid price.
This method is particularly cost-effective when compared to other forms of advertising, as you are only charged for 'active' browsing.
Bid prices can vary, but typically range between 5 cents and a couple of dollars, depending on the keywords you have chosen.
PPC search engines offer inexpensive targetted traffic, so make sure that your keywords are targetted at your specific niche...try using a keyword selection tool such as Wordtracker (www.WordTracker.com).
When first starting out, try YahooSearchMarketing as their results are also shown in other search engines such as MSN and AltaVista.

Attracting visitors to your site...

You have your product, you have a website that you are happy with...but, unless you can attract targetted, potential customers to your site, then, my friend, you are dead in the water !
If your intention is to market 0nline then it is imperative that you attract qualified potential buyers to your site...people who are actively searching for the type of product that you are offering.
If you are a 'newbie' to Internet Marketing, and your advertising budget is as flat as a politician's promise then you will be looking for a proven strategy which will not cost you an arm and a leg, or, preferably, FREE !
The answer lies with search engines and directories (eg: Google & Yahoo) who offer a great source of free traffic to your site...in exchange, all you are required to do is to provide keyword-rich content in your site to enable the search engine 'spiders' to evaluate your content.
In case you are an arachnaphobe, let me just explain that 'spiders' in this context refer to automated programmes that search the Web, and index sites on behalf of the search engines to enable them to compile a 'league table' of sites in specific niches.
Although the 'spiders' will eventually discover and evaluate your site, a little effort on your part will speed-up the process.
Each search engine uses different criteria and processes to compile their data, so it's worthwhile investigating each search engine to find out what these are.
A word of warning here...there are several sites on the Web who offer, for a fee, to submit your site to the search engines...my advice would be - don't bother...you can do the job easier, cheaper and probably better yourself.
Another way to enhance your chances of achieving high ranking in the search engines is to launch your own blog, and then to post regular copy...'spiders' love regular, fresh information, and your rating will rise accordingly.
If you feel that you would like to start your own blog, then visit; www.blogger .com...it is really easy, and there is a host of information on this site to get you up and running.
In the meantime, if you have questions, or comments, please post them here.
Until next time, be lucky !

Starting an online business...Part 5

Welcome back...
continuing with our 'negative/positive' theme, let's consider one of the negatives we previously identified, namely, lack of your own product to promote.
Of course, if you have chosen to concentrate on the Affiliate Marketing route, then this is not a problem, as you are marketing and selling other people's products.
If, however, your strategy involves selling your own products, then the obvious question is...which products, and how will you source them ?
Perhaps you would like to market a product associated with an idea, a hobby or a particular passion...but unless you are able to produce this for yourself, then where do you go from there ?
The answer is that a huge amount of 'information' products already exist, many produced by experts in their field, but who have no concept of marketing.
Try searching in Google, using a general search term such as 'Resale rights', 'Information products', and then refining your search to cover the type of product that interests you.
By negotiating resale rights, or possibly a Joint Venture with the copyright owner you could then rebrand this product to offer to your chosen market.
Blog postings aren't suitable for discussing any subject in depth...the idea being to indicate various ideas, methods and strategies.
For further information, and links, on this and any other subject discussed, then post a comment and i'll do my best to answer your query.
In my next post i'll be looking at marketing

Starting an online business...Part 4

Welcome back...
In my last posting we were discussing methods of changing 'negatives' into 'positives', and one of the former was identified as lack of a website.
I must be obvious that if you are intending to market products online, then a website is a must.
Now, it may be that you are a real computer expert, and would have no problem building your own site, either from scratch, or by utilising one of the many software packages available.
For many, however, the idea of building, launching and hosting a website is daunting, and far beyond their comfort zones.
As ever, there are various solutions to this problem, depending on the budget available.
One solution could be to search Yellow Pages for webmasters in your local area who would do the job for you. Personally, I have found this method to be pricey and not always satisfactory for various reasons.
Another answer could be to get quotes online from Rentacoder or Elance, for instance
www.elance.com
www.rentacoder.com
Of course, having a website is one thing, but writing good sales copy for your product is another separate - and most important - neccessity.
Copywriting (not to be confused with copyright) is a subject in itself, which will be discussed in future blogs.
There is, however, a solution which covers all the problems that we identified as 'negatives'...lack of budget, scarcity of time, no current product line, plus lack of computer and marketing skills.
Let me suggest that you investigate the following site, which shows the solution:
http://www.info4income.co.uk
Have a look at the deal on offer, which I am sure you will agree must be the best and most affordable deal on the 'net.
The offer includes having your own 'Cash-pulling' website set-up for you, with a very simple but thorough tutorial, which shows you in easy steps all you need to know to start pulling in returns within 48 hours !
All sales copy is included, so no copywriting skills are required, and there is an opportunity to join FREE, specially selected Affiliate programmes.
This is a complete "Business in a Box", especially designed for those wishing to start an easy, profitable online business at NO RISK, and minimal cost.
How Minimal ?
You pay a One-Off fee of £19.95, which covers the building and hosting of your site, including registering your choice of Domain Name...subsequently, it costs just £14.95 per month for membership, which includes training, backup and support.
In addition, this site offers a FREE (it's that word again !) 7-Part Email course which will give you loads of new and exciting ideas to explode your online business potential.
In my estimation, this is the best, and most cost-effective offer of its kind anywhere on the 'net...and it's RISK FREE !
Look forward to your feedback

Frank

Starting an online business...Part 3

To return to the 'grim' scenario I mentioned in Part 2, let's now look at turning negatives into positives...
OK, so you have a limited budget, and time is at a premium.
I'm a pragmatist, and I won't pretend that these two factors are not very real problems...but they are problems that are manageable.
When money is in short supply (and when isn't it ?) the corrolary is that you can't afford to give up the day-job, which in turn means that time is also a problem...
H'm, difficult ! But not insurmountable...
The answer to both these problems could be...Affiliate Programs !
I shall be covering this subject in future blogs, but basically these programmes (or programs if US based) can usually be joined for FREE (I do love that word!), and pay you a commission for each buying customer you send to them via your website...space does not permit a full explanation, but to get the general idea, why not head over to :
http://www.info4income.co.uk/sales which is a site promoting affiliate products.
With Affiliate programmes, your start-up costs are minimal, and by doing it part-time your initial problems have been solved. The money then made from your efforts can then be utilised for your own campaigns.
This is a very simplistic explanation, I realise, and is offered merely as an example of how problems can be solved realistically.
We also highlighted another 'grim' problem earlier, that of setting up a web site...but those of you who visited the above site will see an offer for a FREE (it's that word again !) website, hosting, and training.
If this sounds like your thing, then, as mentioned, I shall be posting articles here which will explain Affiliate Marketing (and much, much more) in depth...hang on in there!
In the next posting I shall return to the 'changing negatives into positives' theme, which will, hopefully, show you that online marketing is something YOU should be involved in...remember, only YOU can decide to change your life for the better.
In the meantime, let me wish you everything you would wish for yourself, and look forward to recieving your feedback
Regards
Frank

Even if you already have your own online business (Well done !) then over the next few postings you will still find lots of 'hot off the press' advice, so why not hang on in there ?
Perhaps at this juncture I should mention that I welcome feedback and/or questions on online marketing...but please, no religion or politics !
So, having got that off my chest, let's continue where we left off...
Hopefully, in my last posting I convinced you that, yes, there is huge potential in an online business, and that to prosper you don't need to possess any special talents or qualifications...however, the one attribute you will need is...Determination.
Whatever the Doubting Thomases may tell you, you can succeed...all it takes is determination, regardless of your circumstances. (In fact, several very successful marketers have prospered because their backs were against the wall...the only way is up ! )
So, onward and upwards...
If you feel that you need, and deserve a better life, then let's get started...
Firstly, you must decide on the kind of online business that you would be most comfortable with, something within your range of expertise, or a hobby that you wish to expand...the list is endless.
Basically, anything that can be marketed offline can, and is, marketed online (often more successfully, and with a greater profit margin).
Or, perhaps, you already have an existing product which you feel could be (more) successfully sold online ?
Conversely, you may be in a position where you have no product (as yet), have a limited budget and limited time, no website, little marketing knowledge, etc - pretty grim scenario, yes ?...but actually...NO !
The reason for these postings is to indicate how YOU can turn what appears to be a totally negative situation into a positive, life-changing scenario.
Don't believe me ?
Why should you ? ...you probably don't know me, perhaps have never even heard of me, so why should you believe what I say ?
Well , in mitigation, I will admit that, not all that long ago, I was in a "back to the wall" situation...no 'seed money', no talent with computers, and if I'm being honest, not a lot of experience in marketing...bit of a 'dead-beat', yes ?
But, with determination and a commitment to achieve a life-style which I felt I deserved, this 'dead-beat' now lives a very comfortable life-style, drives an S Class Mercedes and spends half the year (UK winter) in Australasia...and YOU can too!
Until next time, hang on to that word DETERMINATION !

Blogging: The Free Internet Marketing Method!

Copyright © Frank Sutton
http://www.info4income.co.uk/sales

For years blogging has been practiced. But it is only just recently that Savvy marketers have discovered that blogging is one of the best Internet marketing methods that won't cost you a penny to implement.

What exactly is blogging? Blog is the widely used term that refers to web log.

Basically, a blog is an online diary or journal. A blog can be set up at no cost at all, and can be used just for the fun of it or for business reasons.

Blogging for your Internet business is one surefire way to boost the visibility of your products and services. Here are a few ways to boost your internet advertising with the help of a blog:

  1. Keep your clients or customers informed of your website's updates or changes. Your new products and affiliate websites could also be announced through your blog.

  2. Keep track of your business objectives and plans through open writing. Your blog content can be easily stored through archives. What could be better than searchable information that could be easily accessed by anyone browsing the web, right?

  3. Air your opinions, advice or reviews on specific services or products that are related to your business. Publishing is a very easy process with blogging.

  4. Include links that will fetch back links and subsequently improve your ranking on search engines. This could be better executed through putting well-written articles in your website. Affiliate links could also be included in your blog to earn more extra income.

  5. Collect responses through the ability of blogs to fetch comments from your blog readers. You can learn and improve your products and services through feedback from your readers.

  6. Connect easily with other bloggers. When other bloggers notice that you have something good in your blog, they will put you in their favorite lists that will automatically link you to their blogs.

So, how do you set up a blog? Here are some of the options you can make use of to take advantage of this fun way to advertise your Internet business.

Either you load a blogging software or let a blogging hosting service do it for you. Host services such as Blogger.com are the most popular in this field. Those hosts will provide you with easy instructions on how to set up your blog.

Starting an online business

For anyone considering starting an online business (and you should !), let me first dispel a myth which is currently making the rounds...namely, that the Internet has reached saturation point, thus leaving no room for new marketers.
Nothing could be further from the truth !
In fact, NOW is probably the best time EVER to start a highly-profitable online business !
In successive issues of this blog I shall be telling you why, and sharing hints, tips and common-sense advice on how YOU can get onto the fast-track to online success...I did it, and believe me, i'm just an ordinary bloke without any particular skills...so why not YOU ?
There is, of course, good news, and there's bad news...but let's get the latter out of the way first.
The bad news is...only YOU can make the life-changing decision to reverse the status-quo...unless you have the determination and, yes, the courage to decide that you want, and deserve, a better life for yourself and your family, then consider what your life will hold in 12 months time.
The answer, of course, is that you will be stuck in the same rut that you are in now...the same mindless poorly paid job, struggling to make ends meet.
So, is there any good news ? ...
You bet there is ! - I, like many others discovered a unique business which ticks all the right boxes, more of which a little later...
But first, let's imagine that you had this dream of leaving your current badly paid job, and the boss who models his man-management skills on Saddam Hussein...and of being your own boss - great idea, but what of the practicalities ? ... business plans, bank loans, leasing/buying premises, hiring and supervising staff, VAT, accounts, long hours...a total nightmare !
Franchising perhaps?... Who in their right minds would consider parting with £200K to be allowed the priviledge of steam cleaning other people's Wheely Bins ? ...apart from being well past retirement age before you even recovered your "investment"
Consider instead the unique benefits offered by an online business...minimal start-up costs, low overhead, global coverage, low-cost advertising, and huge profits offering a level of personal and financial freedom undreamed of by most...and all from the comfort of your own home !
The additional good news is that you don't need any particular skills or training to be successful...think project management !
To discover more (in fact much more) about how you should be involved in this exciting and lucrative business, keep watching for successive blogs.
